Law Enforcement Conducts Drug Raid in Gloucester City

JANUARY 26, 2023--Authorities conducted a drug raid in the 300-unit block of Essex Street on Tuesday, January 24, 2023. Across the street from the residences is a used car dealer.  The occupant of the home, Jacques Davis, 25, was arrested and charged with multiple drug offenses. On July 11, 2021, a shooting occurred in the same block. An 18-year was shot numerous times. Arrested for that crime was  19-year-old Camden City. Police said Joel K. Taylor shot the victim seven times. Taylor was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, witness tampering, and weapons offenses.

GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ (January 26, 2023)(CNBNewsnet)–Gloucester City Police and the Camden County Sheriff’s Department conducted a search warrant on January 24, 2023 in the 300 unit block of Essex Street as a result of a drug investigation. Once inside the residence, they found a ‘defaced’ firearm; a 30-round magazine, hollow nose bullets, currency, heroin, crack cocaine, meth, and drug paraphernalia.

 

Jacques Davis, 25, the occupant of the property, was charged with numerous drug and weapon offenses.  He was being housed in the Camden County Jail pending a detention hearing.

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
