Can Anyone Catch Up With the Eagles in the NFL?

Few people would have guessed that the Philadelphia Eagles would enter the home straight of the regular NFL season with a 13-1 record, but that’s exactly what’s happened. The Eagles have been in outstanding form all season, and it looks like the team are one of the outright favorites to win Super Bowl 57.

But before football fans start harkening back to that Super Bowl LII victory, it’s important to remember that there are several other teams looking very strong in the NFL right now. From the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC to the San Francisco 49ers and the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC, it’s already looking too close to call as to who’ll be there at Super Bowl LVII in Arizona next February.

Plus with Dallas Cowboys also looking good in the NFC East, most bookmakers like the one reviewed at wetten.com aren’t getting too optimistic about the Eagles having an easy time of landing their second-ever Super Bowl. So here’s a quick look at the key teams that Philadelphia will have to be worried about.

Buffalo Bills

Sat at the top of the AFC East are the Bills with a strong 11-3 record. Many believe that this could be the year that the Bills finally win their first Super Bowl after four failed attempts. Recent performances such as a hard-fought win over Miami Dolphins show that the Bills now have a strength to grind out results even if it isn’t always pretty. This is why many people are predicting a bitterly-fought Bills vs Eagles Super Bowl.

Kansas City Chiefs

Any team with the likes of Patrick Mahomes in their ranks are going to be tough to play against, and the bad news for the Eagles is that it looks like the quarterback is back to his best. Despite losing the likes of Tyreek Hill, Mahomes has managed to guide the Chiefs back to the top of the AFC West with an impressive 11-3 record.

As such, many people think that the Chiefs are now in with their best chance of claiming a Super Bowl win since back in 2019. But with recent losses against the likes of the Bengals, it shows that Kansas City are not invincible.

San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers have always boasted a seriously strong defense, but there have recently been big questions about their quarterbacks. While they have made do with the likes of Jimmy Garoppolo, recent injuries have brought the rookie quarterback, Brock Purdy, to the fore. Nicknamed ‘Mr Irrelevant’ as a result of him being last-place in the 2022 draft, Purdy has actually risen to the occasion and led the 49ers to thrilling victories over tough teams like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Seattle Seahawks.

San Francisco have already booked their place in the play-offs and now it’s just a matter of seeing how far they go. Many are predicting the 49ers to meet the Eagles at some point in the play-offs, but whether Brock can repeat the heroics he did against Tom Brady remains to be seen.

Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings recently recorded the biggest ever comeback win to beat Indianapolis Colts 39-36. This massive result helped Minnesota claim the NFC North at 11-3 and book their place in the playoffs. Strangely enough, many still consider the Vikings to be among the outsiders to win this year’s Super Bowl. Much of this could be down to the fact that the Vikings have failed in their previous four Super Bowl appearances. However, there’s every reason to fear that this could finally be the Vikings’ year.
