BLACKWOOD, NJ (CNBNEWS)–On Tuesday, January 17th at approximately 5:42 pm, GTPD responded to Locust Drive in the Blackwood section of Gloucester Township, New Jersey for a report of a dwelling fire. Arriving officers found smoke and flames coming from rear of the residence. As Gloucester Township Fire Departments were arriving, officers ensured that the residence and neighboring homes were evacuated as a precaution.
Gloucester Township Fire Departments from Gloucester Twp. Squad 88, Chews Landing Fire Department, Blenheim Fire Co., Blackwood Fire Company, Glendora Fire Company, Erial Fire Company and Lambs Terrace Fire Company along with Runnemede Fire Department and Deptford Fire Departments arrived and quickly gained control of the fire. The home was occupied at the time and no one was injured.
At this time the fire does not appear suspicious and will remain under investigation by the New Jersey State Fire Marshal’s Office and Blackwood Fire Department Station 84.
