Blessed in Distress Unveils New Line of Sports Apparel for Philadelphia Fans on Saturday, January 21

PHILADELPHIA PA (CNB BUSINESS NEWS)—Philadelphia sports fans can take their tailgate and game-day apparel to the next level thanks to the newest clothing company in town, Blessed in Distress, which will launch their new 2023 Collection and website on January 21, 2023.

The new lineup from the company includes highlights from three distinct and bold collections: Arch, Badge, and Bell. The collections represent the featured patterns on the items, such as the Liberty Bell (Bell), an Arch, or a unique badge. The group also includes the colors of Philly’s favorite professional sports teams.

All items consist of 100% cotton material sweatshirts and are made to order. Blessed in Distress only makes items with an ode to four Philadelphia professional sports teams but does not name the teams specifically. Blessed in Distress hopes to expand the collections in the future.

Blessed in Distress was created by Jennifer Basile in 2020 during the COVID-19 Pandemic after her job as a sixth-grade teacher in Philadelphia went virtual. The first items she released were a variety of concert tees, which she cropped and bleached herself to give it a distressed look.

After a few months, Basile soon realized there were not many options for Philadelphia sports fans to stand out at their favorite sporting events, so she started designing and creating sweatshirts for her friends to wear to Philadelphia football games at Lincoln Financial Field. By late 2020, inquiries began to come through regarding items with additional Philadelphia Sports teams, and that’s when the company transitioned into what it is now.

“It’s surreal seeing all the amazing Philadelphia sports fans wearing my clothing at games and tailgates,” said Basile. “I never thought this is what I would be doing.”
