Camden City NJ— Detectives have arrested and charged a juvenile in connection with the fatal shooting of another teenager in Camden City last month, reported Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez.
The suspect, a 14-year-old male from Camden, was arrested and charged with 1st-degree Murder in the killing of 14-year-old Dai’meon Allen from Lindenwold.
On Saturday, December 3, 2022, at approximately 9:32 p.m., the Camden County Police Department received a 911 call advising that there were gunshots fired in the area of the 1800 block of Mt. Ephraim Avenue in Camden. The victim sustained a gunshot wound and was transported by EMS personnel to Cooper University Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at 10:04 p.m. The victim had been attending a birthday party event at the Elks Lodge on Mt. Ephraim Avenue that night.
Following an extensive investigation, the suspect was taken into custody in Camden today by detectives from Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and Camden County Police Department. He will be held at the Camden County Juvenile Detention Center pending a court hearing.
