Gloucester Township Police DSgt. Mario Straccialini retires

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP NJ (January 27, 2023)(CNBNewsnet)–Effective January 1, 2023, DSgt. Mario Straccialini retired from the Gloucester Township Police Department after 24 years of honorable service as a full-time Gloucester Township Police Officer.

DSgt. Straccialini served two years as a part-time Class I Special Law Enforcement Officer from 1997 -1999. He was hired as a Gloucester Township Police Officer on January 25, 1999. DSgt. Straccialini served as a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, and Temporary Investigator in the Narcotics Unit from October 23, 2003, until April 15, 2004. He again served as an Investigator in the Special Investigations Unit from June 7, 2005, and was appointed a Detective in the unit on January 1, 2008. On April 30, 2012, he was assigned as a Task Force Officer of the United States Drug Enforcement Administration while continuing to serve in the Special Investigations Unit for 6 ½ years. On September 10, 2018, he was re-assigned to the Investigations Bureau, Criminal Investigations Unit. He was promoted to Sergeant of Police on January 14, 2019, and where he served as a Patrol Deputy Platoon Commander. On November 4, 2019, he was assigned as a Detective Sergeant and was assigned as the Commander of the Professional Standards Unit. In 2005 he was awarded the Gloucester Township Police Department’s Officer of the Year.
