Suzanne W. Crowell (nee Scanlan), age 77, of Gloucester City, NJ. Suzy passed away on January 20, 2023. Born in Atlantic City, NJ, on April 7th, 1945, she was the daughter of the late M. Ward and Eileen (McSherry) Scanlan. Devoted mother of Dean Crowell (Cathy), and cherished grandchildren Ben and Colin. She is also survived by her loving sisters, Eileen Rider, and Kathleen Deighan, and numerous nieces and nephews; beloved stepchildren, Dawn Martin (Mike), Chris Michaux, Linda Sachs (Steve) and multiple step-grandchildren; “soul sister” Peggy Lee. Suzy loved Theresa Lee, Rachael Cowgill, Steven Cowgill, Justin Cowgill and Dana Allen like family.
Suzy retired after 35 years as a senior compensation analyst with Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Camden, NJ. She worked many years for Ferry Fence Company and Ferry’s Loading Dock. Suzy was a lifelong parishioner of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Gloucester City. She was an avid reader, the first treasurer of the Gloucester City English Dart League, and might have gone to the casinos once or twice over the years.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Friday morning, January 27th from 11:30 am to 12:45 pm at Saint Mary’s R.C. Church: 426 Monmouth Street, Gloucester City. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm in the church. Interment will be at a later date.
