Ferrese, Frank S. Ferrese, Robert J. Newkirk and Ava M. Newkirk. Dear brother of Marie (late Fred) Grimaldi, Jeanne (Thomas) Zdanowicz and Kathy (Charles “Budd”) Osborne. Predeceased by his sister Rosemarie and her husband, Frank Percacciante. Beloved brother-in-law of John D. (Peggy) Barbuto and Susan B. (Jim) Classick.
Tom was born and raised in Utica, New York. He attended and graduated from Proctor High School in Utica, NY. Tom graduated from New York State Maritime College with a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He continued his education with a Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. Tom dedicated his professional career to the U.S. Navy at the Philadelphia Naval Base as a Mechanical Engineer.
He was a longtime resident of Haddon Heights and volunteered many years on the Haddon Heights Planning Board as a Board member and Chairman. Tom was always volunteering as a baseball coach for Haddon Heights Youth Athletics (HHYA). He was a HHYA board member for many years and founding member of the Haddon Heights Men’s Shuffleboard League. Tom was a devoted parishioner of Saint Rose of Lima Parish in Haddon Heights. He was a member of the Haddon Heights Sons of Italy and was the 2017 Grand Marshall of the July 4th Parade in Haddon Heights. Tom was an avid fisherman, softball player and 50 year Philadelphia Phillies Season ticket holder. Tom enjoyed his NY roots and loved watching the NY Yankees on the YES network and enjoyed his NY Post Newspaper.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Tom’s viewing on Saturday, January 28, 2023 from 8 am to 10:45 am at the HEALEY FUNERAL HOME: 9 White Horse Pike (at Kings Highway) Haddon Heights. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:30 am at Saint Rose of Lima R.C. Church: 4th Avenue at Kings Highway, Haddon Heights. Interment New Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Bellmawr. There will be NO Friday night viewing.
